  1. I am Aboriginal from Central Australia. I speak a language called Anmatjere. Our word Yeye’ (pronounced Yay-ya) meaning older sister is the same as the greek word for Grandmother… the thing is in Anmatjere, because of the way our kinship systems run, your grandmother is also your sister.

    1. Thanks very much for that. We are in contact with a very important linguist who claims all languages came from a common Original root language. Hungarian, Greek, and German seem to be common links your example is another part of that story. Cheers Steve and Evan.

  2. Good read, And being of aboriginal decent i must say it doesn’t surprise me at all.
    Our spoken tribal ( Mutawintji ) dialect is almost completely different to that of the tribe in Coen far north QLD.
