Google Translation of above msg: “Hi, I’ve been searching for information about something really weird for some time, there are archaeologists who told me it was the cause of erosion, I do not think so, simply because here in Barcelona a type of rock predominates.

Conglomerate formed by many types and diversities of different stones side by side, if it had been erosion they would all be the same, I do not understand about archeology but it is clear that they are cuts made with something cutting, I think that this matter in another time would have been more bland because if I do not explain it …”

I am in agreement that these markings are an ancient language or way of measuring. The similarity in marked stones and and other artifacts across the globe is unmistakable. I would like to suggest that there are large monuments that have these markings as well. Most noticeably the “Devils Doorway” in Amaru Peru. This very large megalithic structure looks exactly like one of those “hand-held” chert rocks in your discussion. https://www.google.com/search?q=amaru+peru+doorway&rlz=1C1CHBD_enUS722US722&tbm=isch&source=iu&pf=m&ictx=1&fir=BA1Ybzf4EqB4OM%253A%252CXfL_itsrWqAi8M%252C_&usg=__X01Ux6H0Qlli7Pz4nb7LFC0vTis%3D&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjBxICX85jXAhXh6oMKHZiuDYoQ9QEIPTAD&biw=1530&bih=724#imgrc=BA1Ybzf4EqB4OM:

I haven’t had time to read and digest all this but very briefly I found a very small similar rock like this in southern Chile. I was told the marks were made by moving glaciers but the marks go around the sides of the piece. (I’m afraid I bought it back home with me to the UK).

I wonder if the ancient Coelbren alphabet began on rocks like these.

It was great to work with you on the article, Steven and Evan!

So many mysteries remain on Earth, but we’re getting there, little by little, stone by stone (“malo po malo, kamen po kamen,” as they say in Bosnia).

P.S. I think it would be interesting to start a new discipline (“kamenology”?), which would be the study of techniques and materials used by the ancients to make stones.

I too, have found a very, very interesting ‘etched’ stone; with many more scribed lines and intersections than those you have shown. Its location was near the ‘Paisley Cave’ site in south east Oregon and was very close to the Fort Rock structure where 9500+ year-old ‘sandals’ were found. As well. this area has yielded worked obsidian spear points and tools that have been identified as being +13,800 years old.
I would be willing to supply photos, measurements and other details regarding this find.

It appears that a small number of people have came across of similar stones. Just thinking as real neophyte that marks on the stones might be messages to next civilisations like ours or messages to be passed between people who wrote them.
